Are you interested in joining a dynamic team at the helm of city-building advocacy and engagement in one of Canada’s fastest growing metro regions?

BILD Edmonton Metro is looking for an Events and Engagement Coordinator to engage its members, Board, committees, and staff to implement events and initiatives that support networking, engagement, social events, and formal and informal educational and professional development. The Events and Engagement Coordinator will assist with BILD’s committees and support the successful implementation of BILD’s signature events and programs.

Responsibilities

Member Event Engagement

  • Develop and lead committees that engage a range of members to volunteer their time and expertise on BILD events and initiatives, including but not limited to: Education Committee, BILD Women, NextGen Committee, and Renovation Project Working Group
  • Support committees with meeting agendas and minutes
  • Work with VP, Strategy & Operations, to develop new educational offerings, with members, to support professional development goals
  • Lead and advance Field Trips, with content curated and supported by members and committees
  • Create new opportunities for members to engage, network, build connections and relationships
  • Develop and lead the creation of an annual School of Building and Development to engage membership, to support professional development and learning objectives, and to foster opportunities relationship building

Event Support

  • Support Manager of Events with planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of BILD events, including social events, awards/gala celebrations, sporting events, Field Trips, and luncheons
  • Support event set-up, tear-down, and follow-up processes
  • Work with Manager of Events to conduct contract negotiations and venue selections
  • Work with Manager of Events to coordinate the production of event materials, promotional items, signage, etc.
  • Collaborate with committees on event themes, concepts and actions

  • Proficiency in design software is considered an asset (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft platforms (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word)

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in education, marketing, hospitality or related field is an asset
  • A minimum of 2 years in event planning and coordination, preferably in a corporate or nonprofit setting
  • Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and handle logistics, budgets, and vendor relationships

Compensation/Benefits

$55,000-$65,000 annually, with a base vacation allotment of 3 weeks plus office holiday closure. Enrolment in BILD Edmonton Metro’s benefits plan, monthly transportation and cell-phone stipends, and RRSP matching program.

Duration

This is a permanent full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
