Municipal Election Strategy

At BILD Edmonton Metro, one of our core responsibilities is forging purposeful partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders — including elected officials. The decisions they make have a direct impact not only on our industry, but also on the long-term economic prosperity of our region.

Through proactive and coordinated government relations, we work to shape municipal policy in a way that reflects our members’ priorities and supports smart, sustainable growth. As we move toward a pivotal municipal election in October, we’ve developed a strategic advocacy roadmap that unifies our industry’s top concerns into a clear, actionable plan.

While housing remains a pressing issue — and will undoubtedly be a central topic on the campaign trail — BILD Edmonton Metro is also advocating for stronger economic investment strategies, improved municipal processes, and meaningful action to address challenges facing our downtowns.

Our priorities include:

  • Addressing the policy pile-up
  • Accelerating housing development
  • Ensuring regional impact
  • Doubling down on downtown
  • Strengthening Edmonton through responsible leadership and informed stewardship
  • Acquiring investment and future-building momentum
