BILD Edmonton Metro is seeking a dynamic and creative Content Strategist to lead the development, execution, and evolution of our content ecosystem.

This role goes beyond writing — it is about shaping narratives, amplifying industry voices, and connecting people to the impact of city-building. The Content Strategist will bring stories to life across multiple platforms, support high-profile communications, and develop data-informed strategies that strengthen engagement with members, stakeholders, and the broader community.

You will play a central role in telling the story of an industry that builds homes, communities, and the future of the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.

Storytelling and Content Creation

  • Develop compelling stories that highlight members, projects, and industry impact across a variety of formats (articles, blogs, social media, newsletters, video scripts).
  • Lead the creation of feature content tied to key initiatives, events, and advocacy priorities.
  • Write and edit executive communications, including CEO and Board messaging, speaking notes, presentations, and media quotes.
  • Contribute to external publications and thought leadership opportunities to position the organization and industry as leaders.
  • Support the development of multimedia content including video and podcast campaigns in collaboration with external partners.

Content Strategy Development

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive content strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Build and maintain editorial and content calendars to ensure timely, relevant, and balanced content delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for storytelling, campaigns, and audience engagement across the year.
  • Continuously evolve content approaches by researching trends, testing new formats, and applying best practices.

Digital & Social Media Management

  • Oversee and manage all social media channels, ensuring consistent voice, tone, and brand alignment.
  • Create and publish engaging, timely content that promotes events, initiatives, and member stories.
  • Collaborate with design resources to produce compelling visual content and campaign assets.
  • Leverage trends, themes, and emerging platforms to enhance reach and engagement.

Campaigns, Events, and Promotions

  • Lead communications for key events, including promotional campaigns, storytelling, and post-event content.
  • Support event marketing through social media, newsletters, and digital promotion.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across advocacy, membership, and events.
  • Participate in industry events and member engagements to gather content and strengthen relationships.

Analytics, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement

  • Track and analyze content performance across platforms (social media, newsletters, website, etc.).
  • Develop regular reports highlighting key metrics, insights, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor audience engagement, media mentions, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Translate data into actionable recommendations to refine strategy and improve outcomes.

Collaboration & Organizational Support

  • Work cross-functionally to support communications needs across the organization.
  • Provide writing, editing, and content support for internal teams and initiatives.
  • Act as a resource for communications planning and execution across departments.
  • Engage with members, partners, and media to source stories and amplify industry perspectives.
  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in content creation, communications, or digital media
  • Experience managing multiple content streams and platforms

$65,000-$75,000 annually, with a base vacation allotment of 3 weeks plus office holiday closure. Enrolment in BILD Edmonton Metro’s benefits plan, monthly transportation and cell-phone stipends, and RRSP matching program.

This is a permanent full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
