Committees
Our industry thrives because of its people. Despite the numerous challenges our cities and communities have faced in recent years—ranging from a nationwide housing shortage to rising costs—our members continue to engage, collaborate, and drive innovation.
At BILD Edmonton Metro, our members are dedicated to shaping a competitive, sustainable, and inclusive Edmonton Metro Region, significantly contributing to our province’s economy.
Each year, hundreds of our members actively participate in committees, working groups, and forums, supporting our efforts in advocacy, events, and education. Their volunteer work, which encompasses hundreds of hours, offers invaluable technical expertise and insights on various issues within the real estate development sector.
Committees
Committees are tasked with advocating for BILD’s priorities and responding to actions proposed or taken by municipalities or partner organizations.
They are expected to meet regularly, track advocacy efforts, and drive desired outcomes. Committees will recruit members with the skills and experience needed to foster positive, constructive relationships with decision-makers in influencing organizations. Members must be available to document and research, engage with partners outside the BILD membership, and attend external meetings like council sessions. Each committee benefits from dedicated staff support from BILD.

Forums
Forums facilitate information sharing and knowledge exchange on topics vital to BILD members.
While they do not have a direct governance or advocacy role, they are essential for fostering an integrated membership and ensuring that relevant information reaches members. Forums offer valuable opportunities for professional development, economic discussions, and policy impact. They receive support from BILD staff but operate largely on a self-directed basis.
