Unlock New Community Growth
Record levels of migration to the Edmonton Metro Region underscore the urgent need for the building and land development industry to deliver the housing, infrastructure, and services required to support a rapidly growing population, in partnership with municipalities and regulatory agencies.
Growing efficiently requires removal of unnecessary barriers and collaborating on creative solutions that accelerate building and development approvals. It also means proactive planning for the next decade through smart and innovative solutions for servicing land and developing new neighbourhoods that maximizes both public and private investments.
We advocate for the following outcomes:
- Streamlined planning reviews and approvals to improve timelines, predictability, and consistency
- Opening new development areas with coordinated planning and servicing, including lands south of 41 Avenue SW
- Allowing for well-planned development in line with provincial legislation to ensure an adequate land supply and maintain housing attainability
- Greater use of technology to support decision-making and improve permit and inspection approvals
